Recognizing new VHF Team Members

We are thrilled to introduce four new Vidant Health Foundation team members to you!

Kate Kosolapova, our new digital communications specialist, will help strengthen and grow our social media and digital presence. She formerly worked in the Public Relations Office with Greenville Utilities Commission, the Media Relations Department at Pitt Community College, and The People of Greenville Project. Kate brings a wealth of experience to the team with a solid background in communication, media relations, and content creation.

Nicole Nesmith joins us as an administrative assistant to Chris Smith, vice president of finance and operations. Nicole is from Virginia where she previously served as the administrative assistant to the vice president of administrative services and human resources director at Halifax Community College. She is a busy mom of four and enjoys playing the piano, painting, drawing, and going to the beach.

Christopher Molina joins the foundation team as a budget finance specialist on the grants team. Christopher graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University where he was also on the swim team and served as a risk management officer. Interesting fact about Christopher – he completed the Electric Lineman Program at Nash Community College and received his Class 3 Lineman License.

Ronald Murrell is our new corporate accountant.  He formally was the assistant finance officer for Jones County Public Schools. He lives in Kinston with his wife and kids and enjoys playing basketball and football.

New VHF Board Chair

Thanks to Bill Mitchum, our outgoing board president, for his leadership, support, and service during the past several years.  Bill has tirelessly given his time and resources to the Vidant Health Foundation since 2014. He has been instrumental in guiding our mission and moving us forward through both the children’s hospital campaign and the cancer campaign.  During two very difficult years of Covid, Bill approached the uncertainty and challenges with the promise to do what was needed to move us forward. We thank you for your commitment and passion for philanthropy.

As Bill enjoys a much deserved break from service, we are excited to welcome Spence Cosby as our new board chair.  Like Bill, Spence has served on our board since 2014 and believes strongly in our mission to provide hope to the people of eastern North Carolina.  Spence is looking forward to serving during this very exciting time for Vidant and ECU Health.
